OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2014. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has suggested that the Hi-Tech Park (HTP) get involved in the development of the international finance center in Minsk. The task was set as Alexander Lukashenko received Director of the Hi-Tech Park administration Valery Tsepkalo.

The international finance center is to be located near the Minsk 1 airport. Valery Tsepkalo pointed to the ongoing close integration of internet companies and financial institutions. Electronic payment systems, payment applications for mobile phones and mobile terminals have made significant inroads. While working on the international finance center project, one should take into consideration new trends in the financial market, Valery Tsepkalo said. The Hi-Tech Park has enough expertise and knowledge in this field and is ready to provide the necessary assistance. In fact, customers of the Hi-Tech Park include the world famous banks and companies.

The head of state was informed about the performance of the Hi-Tech Park in 2013. According to Valery Tsepkalo, the year 2013 was a good year for the park. In 2013 the HTP’s proceeds made up about USD525 million, exports accounted for 85% of the amount. The Hi-Tech Park is actively exploring new markets and searching for new customers. The HTP has also expanded its staff: 3,000 new employees joined the park in 2013, including 500 graduates of Belarusian universities. The HTP also runs its own training programs.
