1,5 mn Civil Servants of Kazakhstan to Get Pay Rise
OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2014. Pay increase will affect 1.5 million civil servants, Minister of Labour and Social Protection Tamara Duissenova informed at the presentation of the draft amendments on social security in the Majilis.
"Pay increase for civil servants by introducing a monthly allowance for special working conditions in the amount of 10% will be provided starting from April of this year. This increase will cover about 1.5 million people, of those 1.1 million are civil servants, 236.8 thousand are unskilled workers, 88.5 thousand people are out-of-staff members," T. Duissenova said.
According to her, for this initiative 63.5 billion tenge has been allocated in the current year.
Kazakh President in his Address to the Nation on January 17, 2014 requested to develop and implement a new model of wages for civil servants from July 1, 2015, which provides for increasing the salaries of health care workers up to 28 percent, educationalists up to 29 percent, social protection workers up to 40 percent. In addition, the Head of State charged to increase the amount of incapacity benefit and survivors' benefit by 25 percent from July 1, 2015.
