OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2014. According to them, till 1 January 2015, the operators of distribution networks of Moldova shall legally separate the activities of distribution and electricity supply.

Until 1 January 2014, they must complete division of accounts and functionally divide the activity on the electric power distribution. The law will also include a new article on the rights and specific responsibilities of transport and system operators in relation to energy supply security and cross-border exchange of electricity.

The amendments were introduced to meet the obligations of Moldova before European Energy community within the framework of 2nd and 3rd energy package, taking into account EU Directive on measures intended to guarantee the security of electricity supply and infrastructure investment.
