OREANDA-NEWS. S7 Group Airlines - partners of Moscow Domodedovo Airport - operated the greatest number of flights without delays and won the punctuality contest following the results of February. Among the leaders, there are such companies as: Rossiya, Polet, Izhavia, Lufthansa, SWISS, Azerbaijan Airlines, Aegean Airlines.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport sums up the Most Punctual Airlines Contest on a monthly basis in eight categories - depending on frequency of flights and maximum take-off mass of aircraft. S7 Group airlines demonstrated the best performance in the first category as they operated 2,311 on-time flights. Rossiya became the winner in the second category - 187 flights without delays. Polet Company operated 195 punctual flights and became the winner in the third category. In February, Izhavia operated 50 flights without delays and headed the fourth category of the contest.

Foreign airlines, partners of Domodedovo, contested in a separate group. Lufthansa became the most punctual airline in the fifth category - it operated 157 on-time flights. SWISS Airlines from Switzerland operated 101 dead-on-time flights and headed the sixth category. Leadership in the seventh and eighth categories went to Azerbaijan Airlines (53 punctual flights) and Aegean Airlines (20 punctual flights), respectively.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport has been holding the monthly Most Punctual Airlines Contest over a distance of over 6 years, and it is an effective tool for improving the quality of the air carrier service. During the contest period, the number of partners of the air hub increased by one third. As of early February 2014, 84 airlines operate flights to 241 domestic and international destinations from Moscow Domodedovo Airport, 86 out of which are unique for the Moscow Air Hub.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the largest air hub in Russia, and in 2013, its total passenger traffic amounted 30.76 million people. It falls into the category of the largest airports in Europe and is among the top three fastest growing airports in Europe according to the ACI Europe classification. Since 2009, it has been holding the title of the best airport in Eastern Europe as rated by Skytrax. Domodedovo is the base airport in Moscow for member airlines of the largest global airline alliances - Star Alliance and oneworld.
