OREANDA-NEWS. March 14, 2014. Vice-premier, Minister of Economy of Moldova and newly appointed Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuri Prodan had a phone conversation occasioned to Moldovan Premier Iurie Leanca’s trip to Kyiv, scheduled for the following week.

The officials discussed the matter of the cooperation between the two states in the energy sector, placed on the agenda of the intergovernmental talks in Kyiv.

 “The conversation was necessary and useful since Ukraine is one of Moldova's major energy suppliers. While discussing facets of the bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, we were assured that during the following-week talks concrete measures are going to be discussed with regard to Moldova’s energy security to be ensured by Ukraine”, Valeriu Lazar said after his talk with Yuri Prodan.
