Spanish Low-Cost Airline to Start Route to Tallinn
OREANDA-NEWS. March 14, 2014. Vueling, Spain's second-largest airline, will begin direct flights from Barcelona to Tallinn's Lennart Meri airport on June 20.
Launched in 2004, Vueling is Spain’s largest budget airline. It serves more than 100 destinations in Africa, Asia, and Europe. The airline will be flying to Tallinn with a 180-seat Airbus 320 as a summer route between June 20 and September 12, according to BNS.
“Without fearing competition with Ryanair, they have taken this major step and we are very happy about it. We hope that this is the start of a long and beautiful cooperation," said Erik Sakkov, a board member of Tallinn Airport.
The company carried 14.8 million passengers in 2012. It is based at Barcelona’s El Prat Airport. Vueling's name comes from the Spanish word Vuelo, which means "flight".
