OREANDA-NEWS. March 13, 2014. Kazakhstan won the third place at the international tourism trade fair “ITB 2014” in the category "Asia, the Pacific and Australia", which was held in Berlin. The first place was taken by South Korea, the second place - Malaysia.

All the components of the tourism industry - tourism international federations, national and regional tourism organizations, tourism and travel agencies and tour operators, hotels, insurance companies, etc. were presented at “ITB Berlin”.

ITB Berlin was attended by about 200 countries. This year, over 12 thousand exhibits were brought to the fair. Exhibitors' stands were assessed by independent jury on the following criteria: stand design, creativity, work with media, work on the stand and presentation of national traditions and culture, the idea of brand products.

As the Chairman of the Committee of Tourism Industry of MINT Marat Igaliyev: "Berlin Travel Forum is recognized a barometer of the global economic situation of travel business. According to many experts, ITB Berlin reflects the main trends in the development of international tourism. Kazakhstan's participation provides an opportunity not only to promote the image of our country in the world, attract tourists, but be aware of all the latest news and trends in the tourism industry. Kazakhstan has signed more than 250 agreements on cooperation with foreign partners, including through promotion of EXPO -2017 in Astana".

Kazakh delegation also participated in workshops, meetings with experts, seminars and round tables for the press, which took place in the Berlin International Congress Center.
