OREANDA-NEWS. Charlotte Douglas passenger traffic climbed 6.5 percent for the first month of 2014. The latest passenger numbers reveal 3,504,652 travelers visited the Airport in January compared to 3,290,101 in January 2013. Passengers flying abroad also rose, jumping 6.2 percent from 191,796 last year to 203,627 this year.

Cargo activity, however, experienced a 1.2 percent decrease, dipping from 10,760 tons (January 2013) to 10,634 tons (January 2014).    

Operations also saw a 1.4 percent decline, primarily due to inclement weather and thousands of cancelled flights earlier this year. In January, CLT had 44,583 aircraft movements compared to 45,196 in January 2013.
