OREANDA-NEWS. March 12, 2014. Eesti Energia has decided not to use the option for a second unit in EPC agreement with Alstom and only complete the construction of the first 300MW unit in Auvere.

In June 2011, Eesti Energia gave a notice to proceed for Alstom to construct a new 300MW power plant in Auvere, which uses oil shale and biomass as fuel.

Construction of the unit is ongoing and expected to complete within the scheduled time frame by 2016. EPC agreement with Alstom included an option to build a second 300MW unit alongside the first.
