US Airways, TAM to Withdraw from Star Alliance Network
OREANDA-NEWS. On March 30, 2014, two of our codeshare partners, US Airways and TAM Airlines will be withdrawing from the Star Alliance network.
For travel completed on or before March 30, 2014
All Aeroplan Members will earn Altitude Qualifying Miles and Altitude Qualifying Segments on all eligible scheduled flights operated by US Airways and TAM. Additionally,
Air Canada Altitude Super Elite 100K, Elite 75K and Elite 50K members will enjoy Star Alliance Gold recognition, including access to US Airways Clubs and TAM VIP Lounges.
Air Canada Altitude Elite 35K and Prestige 25K members will enjoy Star Alliance Silver recognition.
Air Canada Altitude members who have chosen the Altitude Bonus as a Select Privileges will continue to earn 25% Bonus Aeroplan Miles on all eligible flights operated by TAM.
For travel completed on or after March 31, 2014
For flights operated by US Airways:
Aeroplan members will no longer earn miles.
For flights operated by TAM Airlines:
Aeroplan members will continue to earn Aeroplan Miles; however, they will not earn Altitude Qualifying Miles or Altitude Qualifying Segments.
Aeroplan members will be eligible to redeem miles for Aeroplan Flight Rewards operated by TAM
Air Canada Altitude members who have chosen the Altitude Bonus as a Select Privileges will continue to earn 25% Bonus Aeroplan Miles on all eligible flights operated by TAM.
For flights operated by US Airways and TAM Airlines:
Air Canada Altitude members will no longer enjoy Star Alliance Gold or Star Alliance Silver recognition.
