OREANDA-NEWS. On March 3, 2014 at the offices of ITERA International Group of Companies in Moscow ITERA's President Igor Makarov and the European Cycling Union (UEC) President David Lappartient signed a renewed Sponsorship Agreement between ITERA and the UEC for 2014.

ITERA will continue giving sponsorship support to the UEC in order to promote cycling disciplines, expand cycling competitions geography in Europe, and implement national cycling federations' development programs.

“Thanks to ITERA's support, the European cycling now has the opportunity to efficiently evolve at a totally new level”, - President Lappartient noted.

In his turn, Igor Makarov emphasized that: “We have been successful in agreeing upon a number of long-term plans related to cycling in Europe but most important is that now we have a common goal to achieve, that is development of cycling all over the world”.

The UEC (L'Union Europйenne de Cyclisme) is a cycling association supervising development of cycling on the European continent. The UEC is a steering body for the European cycling. It is a continental confederation with the International Cycling Union (UCI). It was established on April 7, 1990 in Zurich, Switzerland, by representatives of eighteen countries. Today, the UEC comprises 48 member countries. The UEC's main objectives include development of all cycling disciplines in Europe and arrangement of cycling events such as Europe Championships and European Cups.
