OREANDA-NEWS. March 12, 2014. Compania Espanola de Petroleos, S. A. U., CEPSA, has taken a step forward in its commitment to motorsport by renewing its sponsorship and cooperation agreement with the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation for the entire 2014 season.

The agreement was signed this morning at CEPSA's headquarters by the company's General Manager of Communication and Institutional Relations Alfonso Escamez, Retail Fuels manager Inigo Diaz de Espada and the President of the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation, Carlos Gracia. Secretary of State for Sport Miguel Cardenal presided over the ceremony in a show of support for the renewal of the agreement.

Miguel Cardenal: “It is important to be grateful for the union of two organisations that strive for excellence through work and effort, investing in motorsport, a category of sport about which this country is passionate”.

This season, the parties have extended the agreement signed in the second half of 2013 which took CEPSA to the Spanish Rally Championship in the Spanish All Terrain (including the prestigious international 'Baja Aragon Espana' karting championship) and the Spanish Karting Championship. All in conjunction with institutional actions and activities sponsored by the Federation.

This time, the sponsorship agreement for the 2014 season goes beyond this link and support for Spain's most important motorsport authority. By renewing the agreement, CEPSA Group's different business areas will offer exclusive advantages to members of the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation, as well as its installations, clubs and associates.

The initiative will give the Company an even more prominent role in this sport, where it already sponsors the Cepsa Truck Team, the Scuderia Toro Rosso Formula 1 team and Carlos Sainz Jr. in GP3, as well as Dany Torres in the Freestyle Xtreme championships.

Alfonso Escamez: "Renewing this sponsorship agreement with the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation will allow CEPSA to continue to support the values we share with the motorsport world, where the will to succeed, effort and persistent work are key tools to achieving our goals".

Carlos Gracia: "By renewing this agreement, CEPSA and the Federation will continue to join forces to strengthen the Spanish championships and to integrate the activities of both entities to benefit motorsport, of which CEPSA has been a part, in one form or another, for several decades. I can only express my gratitude and pride for their trust and commitment to our sport".
