OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus' Finance Ministry posted a republican budget surplus of 2.9 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) (U.S. USD 296.827 million at the NBB rate) in January 2014, or 5.8% of GDP, the Finance Ministry said in a release.

The republican budget indicates spending and revenues of the central administration, whereas the consolidated budget also includes local budgets.

Republican budget revenues amounted to 10.3 trillion rubles (USD 1.054 billion) in January 2014, or 8% of the adjusted target for the whole year.

Republican budget expenditures reached 7.4 trillion rubles (USD 757.421 million), 5.8% of the target for 2014.

Revenues from the value-added tax amounted to 8.4 trillion rubles (USD 859.775 million, 12.7% of the year target), from income tax - Br100 billion (USD 10.235 million, 0.6%), excises - Br2 trillion (USD 204.71 million, 8.7%), from foreign economic activities 1 trillion rubles (USD 102.354 million), 3.9% of the target.

Revenues of the Labour and Welfare Ministry's social security fund (SSF) are estimated at Br7.3 trillion (USD 747.185 million, 7.6%).

Tax arrears totalled Br348.6 billion (USD 35.681 million), up month on month by Br282.9 billion (USD 28.956 million) as of February 1, 2013.

Revenues of the state administration budget (republican budget, local budgets and SSF) totalled Br24.4 trillion in January 2014 (USD 2.811 billion), 8% of the adjusted annual plan; expenditures - Br19.8 trillion (USD 2.027 billion, 6.5%).

The surplus of the state administration budget totalled Br4.6 trillion (USD 470.829 million), 9.3% of the GDP.
