Ukrainian PM Calls on to Reduce Spending on Officials
OREANDA-NEWS. March 11, 2014. “The government adopted a series of tough decisions on saving public funds”, Ukrainian Prime Minister A. Yatseniuk said at a press conference.
According to the PM, the government has made a decision on the actual reduction of more than three thousand workers in the central apparatus and in ministries in the whole Ukraine.
"We will not spend up on deputy ministers, heads of departments, heads of administrations that who at the state expense, which is not currently in the treasury, travel and get government benefits," the Prime Minister said.
Answering a reporter's question regarding the Prime Minister’s working visit to Brussels by economy class of scheduled flight, he reminded that he had used economy class flights both as the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
"There is nothing new here, and so will fly all the members of the Cabinet. Because in a country where 70 percent of people live below the poverty line, charters can use only those who don’t respect their people”, the PM said.
The Prime Minister also noted that in case of emergency appropriate means of delivery will be used:"But, there is to be no debate when there are regular flights."
"Economy class for economy state", A. Yatseniuk emphasized.
