Kaliningrad OFAS Will Take Part in International Conference
OREANDA-NEWS. On 3-4th July 2014, the capital of the “Amber' region” of Russia shall host an international research-to-practice of the Eurasian Economic Commission “Legal Aspects of Equal Competition Conditions and Protection from Unfair Competition”.
Attendees will include representatives of the Government and the State Duma of the Kaliningrad region, the Office of a plenipotentiary envoy of the President of the Russian Federation in the North-Western District, the Antimonopoly Service and other authorities of Russia, Poland and Lithuania. Members of regional Offices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Public Chamber, the heads of the largest enterprises and companies of the Kaliningrad region, businessmen, rectors, lecturers and university students from the capital city of the Kaliningrad region are also invited to take part in the Conference.
The Conference agenda includes discussions on providing equal competition conditions on the markets of the Common Economic Space in various sectors of the economy and the issues of studying the markets under the risks of unfair competition.
Preparation to the international conference has already started. On 26th February the Head of the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Kaliningrad Region (Kaliningrad OFAS Russia), Olga Bobrova, took part in a working meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Government of the Kaliningrad region focused on conference organization.
“Officers of Kaliningrad OFAS Russia shall offer any possible support to the colleagues from the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Office of the regional Government in preparing such an important event aimed at developing competition, particularly, in our region. I am convinced that the conference will be organized at the highest level”, pointed out the Head of OFAS, Olga Bobrova, after the meeting at the Government of the Kaliningrad region.
Under the Agreement on the Eurasian Economic Commission of 18th November 2011, and the Agreement on common principles and the rules of competition of 9th December 2010, the Eurasian Economic Commission controls compliance of economic entities of the member-states of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space with the rules of competition, breaching which adversely affects or can affect competition on the cross-border markets in two and more member-states of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space.
