OREANDA-NEWS. Canadian North Airlines' first weekly charter flight arrived to a water cannon salute at Miami International Airport, ferrying sun-seeking cruise passengers from Hamilton, Ontario to Miami. The new service is an exclusive charter agreement between Canadian North Airlines and Celebrity Cruises that offers Canadian vacationers convenient air service to MIA for select Celebrity Cruises sailing from South Florida.

The weekly charter flights will run through Saturday, April 5, utilizing Boeing 737-300 aircraft that seat 136 passengers. PortMiami, located 15 minutes east of MIA, holds the distinction of being the world's busiest cruise port, and more than 70 percent of its four million annual cruise passengers travel through MIA. The Hamilton-Miami service further highlights the importance of both MIA and PortMiami as gateways to the Caribbean for cruise passengers.

"MIA is proud to welcome Canadian North Airlines and our friends from Ontario to sunny Miami-Dade County," said Miami-Dade Aviation Director Emilio T. Gonzalez. "We're grateful that they have chosen to bring their business to our global gateway and we're proud to do our part to support our local travel and tourism industry."
