Gazpromneft-Aero's Aviation Fuel Supplies to Russian MoD Increases 60%
OREANDA-NEWS. Gazpromneft-Aero, JSC Gazprom Neft's aviation fueling business operator, supplied more than 500,000 metric tons of “into-plane” aviation fuel to aircraft belonging to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in 2013, a 60% increase over 2012.
In accordance with orders issued by the Government of the Russian Federation, the company is the exclusive provider of aircraft fueling work (services) for Russia's Air Force at 27 bases belonging to the Ministry of Defense, and it is also the supplier of fuel and lubricants to those bases.
In 2013, Gazpromneft-Aero invested more than RUB 2.1 billion in the development of fueling infrastructure at Ministry of Defense bases. The total volume of investment since 2011 amounts to more than RUB 3.5 billion.
Since 2011, the company has constructed more than 10 new laboratory facilities at military airfields to test fuel quality, and purchased more than 90 modern fueling trucks.
Vladimir Yegorov, Gazpromneft-Aero CEO, noted, “Our company is the first civil aviation fueling operator to have begun operating at Russian Air Force bases. The company's main objectives for the coming years are the construction of fueling facilities at military bases, the organization of fueling operations in compliance with Gazpromneft-Aero's service standards, and the organization of fuel quality control in accordance with advanced international standards.”
