OREANDA-NEWS.   Volzhsky Pipe Plant, a TMK subsidiary, has shipped 15,000 tonnes of 360x360mm continuously cast square billets to S.С.DONALAN S.R.L. in Romania. It has been the first billet shipment for export this year.

Engineers of the EAF shop had to work with S355G, C45E, 16MnCr5 and 20MnCr5 steel grades that are not widespread in Russia due to their high sulphur content complicating the casting process. The task was completed with no extra costs.

The EAF shop production plan for 2014 provides for manufacturing of large billets volumes, including those for overseas customers.
