OREANDA-NEWS. Thanks to an interactive video wall at the central entrance to the Manege Central Exhibition Hall, visitors can now learn about all of the events in the museum. This project was implemented by CROC.

“The Manege 3D model and customized content designed by CROC help visitors find an exhibition, lecture or festival and learn about hours, ticket prices and other information. Multiple people can operate the video wall at once as it supports up to 32 simultaneous touch inputs and can show photos and videos in one window-not every gallery can boast such features," says Stanislav Dudko, Head of the Project Supervision Sector, Manege Museum and Exhibition Association.

“This 169 inch video wall is one of the largest interactive video walls in Russia. To put it in perspective, it's like a 4-meter African crocodile. The video wall will display information about all the events in Central Manege, New Manege, the Chekhov House, the Vadim Sidur Museum, the Nalbandian Workshop Museum, and the Worker and Kolkhoz Woman Center. Indeed, this is just part of a larger project: two interactive kiosks will soon be installed in front of the Central Manege entrance, and video wall information will be available not only to gallery visitors, but also to passers-by,” says Veronika Taraba, Deputy Director General, CROC.

The video wall is installed on a mobile stand which is used to hide all control equipment. The solution consists of six Samsung 55-inch professional LCD panels and can be used in various Manege halls. All software can be managed from a single PC and to access the administrator panel and update the content, one only needs to have internet access.

The IT infrastructure upgrade project at Manege Central Exhibition Hall included Wi-Fi access deployment in addition to an advanced audio visual systems installation. In the next 18 to 24 months, CROC will also deploy IP telephony using cloud services and provide storage subsystems based on its Virtual Data Center.

The video wall is currently being used in the Winning Season exhibition in the Central Manege, which is devoted to the 2014 ХХII Winter Olympic Games and XI Winter Paralympic Games in Sochi. At the exhibition, visitors can watch Olympic sports events as well as rare footage and photographs from the RIA News archive. After the closure of the exhibition, the video wall will be installed at the entrance area.
