OREANDA-NEWS. Goppel Bus GmbH (a subsidiary of the Kirov Group, Germany) enhances its order portfolio. In 2014, the company for the first time delivered its products to Verkehrsgesellschaft Mei?en (VGM), East Germany.

VGM, Meissen, purchased Goppel Go4City MidiTrain passenger commuter bus with a trailer. The bus train consists of 10.5 m long bus and 11 m long trailer. The vehicle is capable of carrying about 200 passengers simultaneously, which is 40 passengers more than the capacity of standard articulated buses traditionally used on the busiest routes of Meissen. Currently, the plant's representatives and the carrier discuss details of the next contract.

In 2013, following the acquisition of Goppel Bus GmbH by the Kirov group, the German enterprise's production volume grew from 0 to 6.4 mln Euro. And it is expected to keep increasing in 2014 - up to 23.5 mln Euro. This is largely due to the attraction of new orders and entry into markets that are new for the manufacturer.

Goppel Bus GmbH has made low-floor bus trains since 2010, including in cooperation with other bus-makers, such as the Polish plant Solaris Bus & Coach S.A.

Currently, 68 such bus trains are being operated in Germany. It is already known that Munich city is going to purchase another 12 bus trains with trailers produced by Goppel Bus GmbH, in addition to 10 previously purchased buses. The German subsidiary of the Kirov Group is expected to secure an order soon for the production of three bus trains for public transport companies of Gera city and Greiz district (Thuringia, Germany).
