Anhui Pushes "Made-in-Anhui"
OREANDA-NEWS. Anhui province made remarked progress in implementing its brand strategy in 2013, local authorities said on Wednesday.
Last year, 11 brands were recognized as China's Geographic Indications (GIs), bringing the total number to 43. Five corporations won the Government's Quality Award, and four zones got the permission to develop themselves into provincial-level models for quality products, according to the Anhui Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision.
Meanwhile, 185 products were selected as Anhui Famous Brands. The province saw the total number of provincial-level well-known brands hit 1,353, ranking first among the six Central China provinces. Enterprises with those brands contributed to roughly 40 percent of the province’s industrial output and taxes.
The province also joined in setting or revising an international standard for quality, 35 national ones and 100 industrial ones.
92.81 percent of the made-in-Anhui products sampled were up to standard in 2013, up from 91.98 percent a year earlier.
As part of its efforts to promote "made-in-Anhui", the province is striving for the titles of national famous-brand demonstration zones plus national quality-oriented demonstration cities, and nurturing 15 more national GIs this year, said the bureau.
