Belarus' Govt Sets Guidelines for Selling Goods below Prime Cost
OREANDA-NEWS. The Government of Belarus has approved regulations and guidelines for selling goods and services below the minimum market price. The document will remain effective till January 1, 2015.
The regulation is intended to help companies get rid of their inventories and get hold of circulating assets. The document applies to companies selling their commodities on the domestic and foreign markets.
The document says that the decision to start selling commodities below the minimum market price is made by the head of the company, provided the company has been demonstrating a positive return on sales since the beginning of the year. Besides, commodities can be offered for sale below their prime cost if they are traded at auctions organized by the Belarusian Universal Mercantile Exchange.
The document specifies different stage of the decision-making process for companies challenged to sell their goods below the minimum market price. In some cases, companies will be required to conduct a feasibility study and do a lot of paperwork.
