OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus earned USD 70 million in proceeds from state property privatization in 2013, chief of Belarus' State Property Committee Georgi Kuznetsov told reporters.

Belarus' government had hoped to earn as much as USD 2.5 billion in privatization proceeds in 2013.

The privatization process is rusty, Kuznetsov said. In his words, one of the biggest deals of 2013 was the sale of share of a bank and an excavator plant. The next most likely privatization event is the sale of Beltransaviaexport cargo company and Brest Hosiery Factory.
