OREANDA-NEWS.    Composite Pipes Industry (CPI) LLC, a leading manufacturer of glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) pipes, has bagged a USD 5 million contract for supplying pipes and fittings for a 62 km-long pipeline for British oil giant BP's Khazaan field development.

BP's Khazaan tight gas field in north-central Oman is an important natural gas projects in the country with a massive investment. These pipes, which are corrosion resistant, are cost effective and do not require maintenance and repair. Also, it can handle high pressure for flow lines and sour applications.

Said Al Maskery, general manager of Composite Pipes Industry, said that the contract was awarded in September last year and it takes seven months for qualification testing and production.

Apart from BP, the major clients of Composite Pipes Industry include Petroleum Development Oman, Occidental Oman, Oman Refineries and Petroleum Industries, Oman LNG, Oman India Fertiliser Company, Daleel Petroleum and Va Tech Wabag.
