Essex County Council Chooses Fujitsu for IT Transformation Project
OREANDA-NEWS. Fujitsu, today announced that it has secured a deal with Essex County Council to transform its Corporate Systems estate. Under the terms of the contract, Fujitsu will implement a fully integrated and modernised ERP environment that also delivers enhanced functionality to retained legacy applications. The project supports the Council's long-term financial strategy to save at least GBR 235m over the next three years while helping it to become more operationally efficient and expand the services it can offer to other public bodies throughout the UK.
The contract, which is worth GBR 16.6 million over seven years, will see Fujitsu implement a fully managed service covering Oracle E-Business Suite, Hyperion, OBIEE and Taleo, while harmonising this with existing applications which continue to deliver good value to the people and businesses of Essex.
The new Oracle-based back office IT structure will enable the Local Authority to take advantage of the extra system capacity to offer shared services to schools, libraries and other publicly funded institutions outside the boundaries of Essex and thus generate extra revenue for the County in the future.
