OREANDA-NEWS.  February 24, 2014. IC Allianz has completed loss adjustment for a foreign shipowner in three occurrences to the total amount of EUR506.812 thousand.

The company paid insurance indemnity for the damage to the dry-cargo ship in the Baltic Sea. The ship covered by hull insurance was proceeding in ballast for loading in German port Travesund. The collision with another dry-cargo ship occurred in coastal waters of Germany. The insured ship was inspected in Mukran port and then repaired in Polish port Szczecin. The accident was recognized as a loss occurrence, and IC Allianz reimbursed the cost of repairs in the amount of EUR247.116 thousand.

Later on, the ship owner’s motor vessel grounded at the entrance to Randers fiord (Denmark) in poor weather conditions. The vessel suffered damage in its underwater part. IC Allianz paid to the insured EUR189.973 thousand to cover the cost of repairs.

Another vessel was proceeding from The Port of La Pallice, France, to Port of Leith, Scotland. Prior to entrance to the port of destination the vessel’s mooring thruster failed. The loss amounted to EUR69.723 thousand. IC Allianz fully reimbursed the ship owner for the damage.
