OREANDA-NEWS. February 20, 2014. Akim of the region Kosman Aytmukhametov held bodies where the current state of food prices in the region was considered. Head of Business and Industry Temirzhan Khamitov, Head of antimonopoly inspection Yerkasym Suleimenov, Head of statistics Ermek Mussin, Akim of Kokshetau City Zharkyn Zhumagulov spoke at the meeting.

The consumer price index of food products in the region amounted to 100.4% as of January 2014. Stabilization measures are planned and an operational working group is established to analyze the situation with prices and operational management of work to contain inflationary process. Working groups monitor prices of basic consumer goods, fuel and exchange rates, and the availability of trade stock every day.

Similar task groups are created by all district and city Akimats. Meetings are held and memoranda with wholesale implementators of socially significant goods and retail and wholesale implementators of oil products are concluded in order to prevent unjustified price increases and contain inflation on goods and services. Fairs for the sale of agricultural products are organized in the regional and district centers.

During the meeting it was noted that consumer prices limit for fuel are kept in the region, and there is not any rush demand for goods among the population. In general, work to stabilize the retail prices for food products is under constant monitoring and to be continued. Following the meeting, appropriate instructions to the heads of departments and agencies, Akims of districts and cities have been given. Kosman Aytmukhametov stressed that tough measures will be taken for unjustified price increases. Also the Head of the region called the media to report corresponding facts.
