ENEVA announces that the Parnaiba III thermal power plant received authorization from the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) to start the commercial operations of its second generation unit, with 7 MW of installed capacity. Thereby, the installed capacity of the plant reached 176 MW, complying with the total capacity contracted under the terms of the Regulated Market Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) secured in the 2008 A-5 energy auction. The power plant Parnaiba III is located in the Parnaiba Complex, in Santo Antonio dos Lopes (MA), pioneer in Brazil by integrating natural gas production to power generation. Currently, besides Parnaiba III (176 MW), Parnaiba I (676 MW) and Parnaiba IV (56 MW) are also in operation, totaling 908 MW.
