OREANDA-NEWS. On February 17, the Belarusian State Philharmonic society (Minsk) played host to an extended session of the Belarusian-Lithuanian business council for trade and economic cooperation. The meeting brought together the representatives of government bodies and over 100 businessmen from Belarus and Lithuania.

The parties discussed further deepening of trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation between Belarus and Lithuania as well as search for new business partners and experience sharing.

The agenda of the meeting included a number of reports describing the peculiarities of doing business in Belarus after its accession to the Customs Union (shared by Russia and Kazakhstan) as well as opportunities and advantages of investing in Lithuania. One of the reports titled “Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange - a platform for boosting mutual trade” was delivered by Sergey Popudrenko, Vice-Chairman of the BUCE Board. In his speech, Mr. Popudrenko provided the participants of the session with detailed information about the possibilities and prospects of increasing the mutual trade turnover between Belarus and Lithuania through more active use of the BUCE's system electronic exchange trade.
