OREANDA-NEWS. February 19, 2014. Governor Zhu Xiaodan of Guangdong Province conducted an inspection tour to Baosteel’s Zhanjiang Iron & Steel Base.

During the visit, Zhu inspected the jobsite of the steelmaking project contracted by the 17th China Metallurgical Construction Group (17MCC Group), and the jobsite of 2250mm Hot-rolling Project undertaken by China 20MCC Construction Group (20MCC Group). Chairman Xu Lejiang of Baosteel Group, General Manager Dai Zhihao of Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., Chairman Zhao Zhouli of Zhanjiang Steel Works, Secretary Liu Xiaohua of CPC Zhanjiang Municipal Committee and Mayor Wang Zhongbing of Zhanjiang Municipal Government accompanied Zhu during the visit.

At the jobsite of 17MCC Group, Governor Zhu Xiaodan placed a high premium on the safety, quality, implementation progress and construction management of the project. According to Zhu, the implementation progress of the steelmaking project is the key for the timely completion and operation of Baosteel’s Zhanjiang Iron & Steel Base. He placed great expectations on 17MCC Group, believing that 17MCC Group could assume heavy responsibilities and complete the project execution on a quality and timely basis.

At the jobsite of 20MCC Group, the Governor was debriefed on the execution progress of 2250mm Hot-rolling Project. It is reported that 20MCC Group made great efforts on project implementation during the dry season (the golden period for project construction) and achieved initial success. Zhu spoke highly of these achievements and expected 20MCC Group to continue efforts on the follow-up tasks and ensure the smooth completion of the project.
