OREANDA-NEWS. February 19, 2014. In the framework of the State Defence recycling program for 2008-2017, about 212 500 tons of missiles and ammunition were disposed. Of these, 49 020 tons were disposed in 2013, Minister of Defence of Ukraine Pavlo Lebedyev said during a briefing at the Government House.

In 2013, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine carried out the work on the removal from the Ukrainian territory of a toxic rocket fuel component - melange.

"4 980 tons of melange were removed from military depots and sent for recycling in 2013 ", Pavlo Lebedyev noted.

Today Ukraine still has about 604.7 tons of melange.

"In the first half of 2014 Ukraine will be completely exempt from melange ", the Minister of Defence of Ukraine emphasized during a briefing at the Government House.
