OREANDA-NEWS. February 19, 2014. POSCO will implement its `Finding unpaid dividends` campaign in an effort to find shareholders who have not received dividends due to the closing of accounts set up for fund transfers or for other reasons.

Since Pohang Steel shares were first listed in 1988, approximately 80,000 shareholders holding share certificates, whose dividend fund transfers were disconnected due to death or errors will be able to claim approximately 6.9 billion KRW in unpaid dividends.

Those wishing to check and request unpaid dividends can do so by calling a toll-free number at 080-005-6060. Shareholders can present their resident registration number or bank account numbers, and heirs must present the previous shareholder`s resident registration number for confirmation. They must then submit a certificate of removal of name, inheritor`s identification card, and copy of the related bank account. Unpaid dividends will continue to be processed without a deadline. Once documents are submitted each Wednesday, dividend funds will be paid out each Thursday afternoon.

POSCO held a Board of Directors meeting this past January 29th and made the decision to pay cash dividends of 6,000 KRW per share. The total dividend is therefore 8,000 KRW, including interim dividends of 2,000 KRW. Dividends will be confirmed at the General Shareholders Meeting scheduled for March 14th. Once confirmed, year-end dividends will reach 478.7 billion KRW, a dividend rate of 1.8%.
