OREANDA-NEWS. Total gas sales volume by Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. for the month of January 2014 came to about 1,587.706 million m3, up 1.4% from January 2013.

In the residential sector, volume totaled 505.923 million m3, down 3.0% from January 2013, due to higher average temperature compared to that in the same period last year, leading to the decreased demand for water-heating and space heating.

In the business sector (consisting of commercial, public, and medical use), volume totaled 285.435 million m3, down 2.3% from January 2013, due to higher average temperature compared to that in the same period last year, leading to the decreased demand for water-heating and space heating.

In the industrial sector, volume totaled 576.054 million m3, up 6.6% from January 2013, leading to the increased demand for power generation and the higher operation on existing facilities.

Volume for wholesale supply to other gas companies totaled 220.293 million m3, up 3.9% from January 2013, due to the increased demand of the other companies.
