Power Machines Renovate Largest HPP in Baltic States
OREANDA-NEWS. Power Machines OJSC and Latvenergo AS (Latvia) have signed a contract for the turnkey overhaul of hydropower units Nos. 1 and 3 at Plavinas HPP.
The contract was awarded following a competitive bidding process, which Power Machines OJSC won by offering the best technical and economic solution. Such leading power equipment manufacturers as ALSTOM Hydro France, Voith Hydro and Andritz Hydro GmbH took part in the bidding process as well.
The scope of supply and services to be provided by Power Machines under the signed contract includes the design works, model tests, manufacture and delivery of the equipment to retrofit two hydropower turbines and generators, auxiliary equipment, as well as installation, commissioning and start-up, as well as final acceptance tests.
The renovation will result in the increase of each power unit capacity by 13 MW, from 85 MW to 98 MW respectively.
The renovated units' startups are scheduled to March 2016 and March 2017.
