OREANDA-NEWS. EUROCEMENT group, the largest building materials production group in Russia and the CIS states, following the results of its operations in 2013, demonstrates a +5% increase in delivering cement to consumers.

The combined production of the Group's 15 plants in Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan amounted to more than 24.5 million tons of cement in 2013. At the same time, the increase in cement deliveries to customers amounted to 5% on average and exceeded the 2012 metric by 1 million tons.

No.1 Building suppliers

“Today, EUROCEMENT group has the capacity to provide high-quality cement for global projects of any complexity and scale. Approximately 80% of all airport air strips laid in Russia over the last few years have been reconstructed and built on our cement - the airports of Pulkovo, Vnukovo, Kazan, Lipetsk, etc. Many of the country's huge atomic energy facilities have been built on the group's cement: the Tatar, Bashkir, Kola, Novovoronezh, Kursk, Kalininsk and Smolensk nuclear power plants, among other facilities. Our produce is used in residential construction on all levels of complexity: from low-rise to high-rise, from typical projects to elite residencies”, remarks the President of EUROCEMENT group Mikhail Skorokhod.

Subway stations have also been built using the group's cement in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Samara and other cities, along with rigs, roads, sports facilities of the Universiade 2013 in Kazan and of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, in addition to stadiums and accompanying infrastructure built for use in the football World Cup 2018, including the Spartak stadium in Moscow. The group's production capacity allows for the erection of 100 million m2 of accommodation, providing apartments to more than 3 million families, or to lay 20,000 km of roads, or build 67 million m2 of industrial infrastructure per year. Consumers of our products add up to 300 million people.

High quality cement

The produce of the group's plants has received the highest awards - platinum seals of quality from the international trade fair (contest) “All-Russian Brands (III Millennium). Quality Seal of the XXI Century” and certificates from the contest “100 Best Products of Russia”, and the group's cement plants hold “Passports of High Quality Enterprise”.

The cements of the group's plants have passed environmental impact assessments and conform to the corresponding international standard “EcoMaterial Basic. Environmentally safe construction materials”. Receiving this certificate confirms that the plants' produce conforms to all environmental standards and is safe for humans, and leading technologies and equipment are used in manufacturing the produce which minimize its effect on the environment.

Manufacturing modernization

In 2013, EUROCEMENT group brought a new high-tech plant into operation in the Voronezh region, rated for the yearly production of 3 million tons of cement using the modern dry method. Thanks to the newest production technologies and green solutions, the plant's average fuel requirements are 1,6 times lower than those of a plant producing cement using traditional methods, and industrial emissions are reduced by a factor of 2,5 compared with standard metrics.

Also, in 2013, EUROCEMENT group began the realization of a project to build new cement manufacturing lines using the energy-efficient and environmentally friendly dry method in all of its existing production facilities. This will allow the group to increase its output by 5 million tons of cement per year, fully convert its plants to the dry production method, significantly increase the energy-efficiency of its production, and also reduce its environmental impact. Modernization also involves significant investments in personnel training. For the realization of this task, a Corporate University began its work on the base of the Group's high-tech plant in the Voronezh region, which trains specialists throughout the calendar year.

It's worth noting that in 2013, the general and engineering directors of all 16 of the group's cement plants in Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan underwent a training programme in the Corporate University, along with the chief mechanics, the QC department and laboratory heads, and the chief technologists. In the near future, the main energy workers, young specialists and members of the Group's reserve labor force will undergo training in the Corporate University.
