OREANDA-NEWS. February 14, 2014. Options for traveling to Stockholm will again grow scarcer this spring as Flybe has announced it is ending its air route to and from Tallinn.

The former sales director for the low-cost carrier in Scandinavia and the Baltics,  Erik Lindholm, made the announcement on the Danish website Check-in.dk.

"I regret to announce that Flybe has decided to close the direct route between Stockholm-Bromma and Tallinn. Date of the last flight is not yet decided , but will be at some point in March or April. As a consequence, I leave Flybe and (have) my last day in the office today, January 31."

Flybe had offered the service from Tallinn's Lennart Meri Airport to Bromma, a borough with a commuter airport relatively close to downtown Stockholm. Fares tended to be in the 100-euro range, 60 percent of what mainstream carriers offered.

Flybe will continue to fly to Finnish destinations. Among other routes, the company serves the Tartu-Helsinki route.

Flybe expanded to Tallinn in 2011 but most of the routes it offered have been phased out due to the financial difficulties of Rosedale (J.W.) Investments Limited, Flybe's British parent company, the Danish site said.
