OREANDA-NEWS. Pre-startup chemical flushing was accomplished at the boiler which is constructed by JSC “E4 Group” at the new combined cycle unit of Izhevskaya TPP-1. Besides, specialists of the Company made the water treatment unit ready for start-up. Currently, a working committee is scheduled to be held for handing over the facility to the Customer.

A contract for the reconstruction of Izhevskaya TPP-1 with the use of combined cycle unit was signed between JSC “E4 Group” and JSC “TGK-5” (IES-Holding) in April 2012. The project provides for the construction of one combined cycle unit of 230 MW and 498 Gkal/h at Izhevskaya TPP-1. Besides, according to the contract JSC “E4 Group” has to supply all the auxiliary equipment, to carry out commissioning, to take part in putting the new unit into operation and certifying thereof.

Reconstruction of Izhevskaya TPP-1 is one of the top-priority investment projects by IES-Holding. It will allow to significantly increase capacity of the plant and to recover deficit in thermal and electric power in Izhevsk, thus having ensured reliable and failure-free power supply to industrial enterprises and household consumers. By doing so, the use of combined cycle technology will positively affect economic factors of Izhevskaya TPP-1 due to the reduction of specific fuel consumption and increase of efficiency factor of the power generating equipment.

The new power unit is scheduled for startup in 2014.
