OREANDA-NEWS. EUROCEMENT group is continually modernizing its plants with the aim of increasing the quality of its produce, perfecting its delivery terms, reducing its energy consumption and improving its environmental friendliness. In 2013, the group invested around 50 million rubles in Zhigulyovsk Building Materials. A range of major projects were completed using these funds.

In October 2013, the modernization of the plant's hub for shipping cement by water was completed. The realization of this project allowed the productivity of deliveries to be increased from 70 to 120 tons an hour, and the time required to unload barges to be halved.

In June 2013, in cement mills Nos.4, 5 and 6 of Zhigulyovsk Building Materials, the introduction of wear-poof grinding media made by Magotteaux (Belgium) was completed. The use of high strength balls will allow the plant to increase the productivity of its cement mills and the lifespan of its grinding media, and also reduce electricity consumption.

Additionally in 2013, a purchase of automobile and special equipment was completed. In particular, the transportation section acquired an aerial work platform on a GAZ automobile base, designed for carrying out various types of work at heights of up to 22 meters; a GAZEL automobile for supply requirements, and a NEFAZ fuel dispenser on a KAMAZ automobile base for fuelling locomotives and equipment in the raw materials quarry.
