OREANDA-NEWS. Following the results of January 2014, the passenger traffic of Moscow Domodedovo Airport increased by 3.5% YoY and amounted to 2.16 million people. The number of flights increased by 5.8 % to make 20.6 thousand take-off and landing operations.

The highest growth in passenger traffic was registered on domestic routes - plus 10.7 % YoY; passenger traffic amounted to 892 thousand people. In terms of passenger traffic growth, the leading positions among domestic destinations are taken by: Sochi, Makhachkala, St. Petersburg, Vladikavkaz, Krasnodar. Passenger traffic on these routes amounted to 231 thousand people, which is 30.5% more than in 2013.

International airlines passenger traffic amounted to 1,275 thousand people.

The maximum index dynamics is registered in the following domestic destinations: Sharm-El-Sheikh, Barcelona, Antalya, Punta Cana and London. In January 2014, 200 thousand people were transported in these destinations, which is 43.3% more than last year.

In January 2014, Domodedovo cargo traffic amounted to 11,995 thousand tons.
