SCM and DTEK's Sustainability Reports Called Best
OREANDA-NEWS. SCM and DTEK's sustainability reports and case studies have been awarded by CSR Development Centre.
On 6 February, Kiev hosted the READERS' CHOICE AWARD ceremony of the “Best CSR Practices 2013” and “Best Non-Financial Report 2013” contests organised by CSR Development Centre as part of the CSR Market Place exhibition.
DTEK Sustainability Report 2010-1011 won the Non-Financial Reporting contest, and the short version of SCM Group Sustainability Report 2012 “Working Together. Winning Together” ranked second.
“Sustainability reports help our stakeholders - employees, citizens of communities where we operate, partners, and investors - to understand us better, learn about our priorities, and get involved in our projects. They are a sort of an information bridge between SCM Group and people. Every year we report on the progress we have made towards sustainable development. On the one hand, we seek to inform people about our social programmes in a simple and easy-to-understand way. On the other hand, it's very important for us that experts highly recognise SCM Group reports,” commented Natalia Yemchenko, SCM's Director of Public Relations and Communications.
In addition, SCM's Skills Passport project designed to develop occupational standards was ranked in the top five in the “Contribution to National Development” nomination of the 2013 CSR case studies contest. DTEK's project to establish Local Economic Development Agencies operating in 15 Ukrainian cities received the first prize for the “Contribution to National Development” and the Grand Prix for “Development of Local Communities”.
“Skills Passport is a project focused on improving the quality of higher and vocational education in Ukraine. Today it helps students to understand the requirements of future employers in eight professions and delivers a clearly-stated message of the labour market to universities. SCM Group is looking forward to the first graduates trained according to the new educational standards,” added Natalia Yemchenko.
