OREANDA-NEWS. February 11, 2014. The delegation of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) in the lead of Ms. A.Alkandari, being on visit in Uzbekistan hold a meeting at the Ministry for foreign economic relations, investments and trade (MFERIT) of the Republic of Uzbekistan. During the talks with deputy minister Mr. Sh.Tulyaganov and heads of MFERIT directorates the guest were profoundly informed on socio-economic development of Uzbekistan, as well as country’s business environment, in particular conditions for foreign investors, created here.

Touching upon the issue of bilateral cooperation development, the parties are noted that current state of Uzbek-Kuwait relations in this area does not match to available opportunities and both countries have yet not used potentials for raise the interaction to qualitatively new level. 

During the talks the issues of bilateral cooperation on financing of projects, aimed at technical equipment of country’s high medical institutions and multi-field hospitals were also discussed. It was noted that at the present time within the framework of cooperation with Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development financial assets at the amount of 111.7 million USD have been allocated in order to implement projects in the field of health protection, public utilities, development of transport infrastructure, irrigation and drainage facilities.

Focusing on prospects of cooperation, the head of delegation has noted that currently attraction of young specialists from Kuwait for participation in carrying out reforms on the field of social and infrastructure spheres is planned too.
