OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian Helicopters holding will participate at the SingaporeAirshow 2014 International Civilian and Military Aviation Exhibition. The event will take place from February 11-16 at the exhibition center of the Changi Airport in the Republic of Singapore. The holding will demonstrate a range of helicopters representing different categories.

The Ka-62 medium multipurpose helicopter, which can be purchased commercially in the region, will form the centerpiece at the holding's exhibit.

The Ka-62 medium multipurpose helicopter began to be developed at the Kamov factory in 1992 as a modification of the Ka-60 military helicopter. In 2012 the first model was shown at the HeliRussia exposition. Afterwards the date for the beginning of testing in 2013 and the certification of the Ka-62 in 2014 was announced.

The helicopter is being manufactured using modern materials and technologies. It is anticipated that the propeller blades and glider will be made of more than 50% polymer composite materials. The main features of the Ka-62 are a glass cockpit, five-blade main rotor, use of a second hydraulic circuit and a wheeled chassis for increased power consumption.

The Ka-32A11BC multipurpose helicopter will also be presented at the exhibition. This model is used in more than 30 countries around the world for firefighting, search and rescue operations and complex construction and installation works. The Ansat, which is used as a police and training helicopter, will be shown in the light helicopter segment.

In addition, models of military transport helicopters, including the Mi-8/17 series (Mi-17V-5 and Mi-171Sh) as well as the Mi-35M, which was developed on the basis of the legendary Mi-24 military transport helicopter, will also be on hand at the exhibition. These helicopters are operated in practically all regions around the world.

The Ka-52 Alligator reconnaissance and attack helicopter will be demonstrated among other military models. This helicopter was shown for the first time abroad in the summer of 2013 at the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, where it successfully completed a trial program.

In addition, representatives of the holding will conduct meetings and conferences with helicopter operators from the Asian region during the exhibition.

A special conference entitled, "The Ka-62 Helicopter for the Asian Pacific Region," where experts from the holding will talk about the company's innovations, will be held with the support of the Russia-Singapore Business Forum and the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Russia.
