OREANDA-NEWS.  February 10, 2014. Valdur Laid, the former head of Elion, has been given the top job at TeliaSonera Finland, the country's second largest telecommunications company.

Laid moved to Finland two years ago to head the company's business division, and will take the reins of the Finnish branch of the Swedish giant from April 1, this year, the company said in a press release on Tuesday.

Elion and EMT are both part of the TeliaSonera group, but the Finnish branch has united its mobile phone and Internet companies into one, serving 4.5 million clients. The company has 3,500 employees.

Laid said that the work and leadership culture is very similar in the two nations, and according to Aripaev, is expected to earn around 600,000 euros a year.
