Aeroflot Group Joins European Top 5 by Passenger Turnover
OREANDA-NEWS. Aeroflot Group has been ranked among the leading global airlines in terms of revenue passenger turnover in 2013. The rating was published by the influential international journal Air Transport World. The turnover rate achieved by the Group during 11 months of the last year - 79 billion passenger-kilometers - allowed Aeroflot to enter European top five and global top twenty, even though the results of its peers were calculated for the entire 2013.
It should also be noted that Aeroflot Group took the second place in Europe by growth rate of revenue passenger turnover (14.9%). The number of passengers - 29 million in 11 months of 2013 - positioned Aeroflot as the 6th among the leading European airlines but the Group also took the second place in terms of growth of this indicator (14.3%).
According to Air Transport World, Aeroflot Group is also among European top ten carriers by passenger load factor - 78.6% during the first 11 months of 2013.
An active growth of operating performance, noted by ATW, confirms the attainability of Aeroflot's strategic goals which imply joining European top five and global top twenty airlines by passenger traffic and revenues in 2025.

In June 2013 Aeroflot was for the second time awarded by SKYTRAX as The Best Airline in Eastern Europe.
