The board of directors (the “Board”) of Chongqing Iron & Steel Company Limited (the “Company”) hereby announces the resignation of Mr. Deng Qiang as chairman, non-executive irector, chairman of the strategic committee and chairman of the nomination committee of the Company with effect from 24 January 2014 pursuant to the relevant requirements under the law, regulations, other regulatory documents and the articles of association of the Company.

The resignation of Mr. Deng Qiang as chairman and non-executive director of the Company has not resulted in the number of members of the Board being less than the statutory quorum and will not affect the normal operation of the Company. Mr. Deng Qiang has no disagreement with the Board and there is no matter relating to his resignation which needs to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the Company.

The Company would like to express its gratitude to Mr. Deng Qiang for his contributions to the development of the Company during his term of office.
