OREANDA-NEWS. From 31 January 2014, the UK arm of RWE's renewable energy division will have a new name. RWE npower renewables, which was established in 2008, will become RWE Innogy UK, and by doing so, underline the fact that it is part of a single pan-European renewable energy company.

This change clarifies the company's position as the UK subsidiary of RWE Innogy, which pools the renewable energy expertise and power plants of the RWE Group across Europe.

Hans Bunting, CEO of RWE Innogy GmbH said “The change of name is in response to a number of factors, which includes feedback from external stakeholders, and very importantly employees, who want to feel more integrated with one of Europe's largest renewable energy companies. The re-naming will further help to underline and reinforce the identity of RWE Group's renewable energy division.”

Renewable energy is a key strategic objective for RWE, with a pipeline in excess of 10 Gigawatts, around half of which will be developed in the UK.

With over 400 full time employees based in the UK, across 12 offices, RWE Innogy will continue to play a key role in supporting the UK to achieve its renewable energy ambitions, through investment, creating jobs and providing environmentally friendly energy for generations to come.
