OREANDA-NEWS. The ministry of oil said that they are going on to complete the technical and legal procedures to establish the two state oil companies in the governorates of Thi-qar & Wasit.

Mr. Abdulkareem Liaybi the minister of oil ensured that the ministry took all the necessary procedures and gave the instruction to the concerned sides & directorates to establish Thi-qar Company in Thi-qar governorate and Wasit Company in Wasit governorate and the ministry is serious to establish them as soon as possible. Mr. Liaybi shown that the reason behind the establishment of those companies is because that their production is more than 100 thousand barrels/ day.

Mr. Liaybi said that there are two oil fields in Thi-qar governorate which are Nasirya & Gharraf in addition to exploratory areas that contain high reserves. While the governorate of Wasit contains significant fields like Ahdab & Badra which is hoped to start the initial production in this year.

Mr. Liaybi added that the two companies will give good chances to the oil staff to participate in the oil processes administration especially in the human & economic development sector.
