The Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Kamal Nath, inaugurated the centre in the presence of Madhu Kannan, GEC member, Tata Sons, and Sarajit Jha, COO and interim MD, TBSS. Standard Chartered is the first client for the centre and has committed to increase its support for the centre going forward.
TBSS has already received possession of the land in Ambara from the MP Government, where it would build in two phases, what would be one of the world's largest rural business process management (BPM) centre. TBSS is one of the largest rural BPMs in the world with over 2,000 people in seven centres across India. TBSS's strategy has been to select high SC/ST concentration areas and open rural centres in these areas, in order to ensure maximum absorption of SC/ST candidates. TBSS has a stated vision of becoming 80 percent SWAM - single, women, adivasi and minorities - organisation by 2017; it is currently at 46 percent, making it one of the most significant impact sourcing companies in the world. The Chhindwara centre will propel TBSS towards meeting its objectives.
TBSS will make a green BPM centre incorporating best practices in sustainability of balancing the three Es of economic development, social equity and sustainable environment. The TBSS motto of convenience, safety and hygiene will be upheld. TBSS will also be partnering with like-minded companies to deliver their business from rural areas on the platform of better customer experience and commercial terms. TBSS has proven to many clients that though there are initial hiccups of starting in rural areas, over a long term the motivation, lower attrition and higher engagement of the workers in rural areas, provide a stable, reliable, sustainable and delightful customer experience.
TBSS dedicates this centre to the people of Ambara, and looks forward to the continued support of the establishment to build the community in Ambara and neighbouring areas.
