OREANDA-NEWS. Sberbank CIB announces the appointment of Sergio Soler to the position of Senior Trader, Precious Metals Trading, Commodities Unit, Global Markets Department, Managing Director. In addition, Franck-Eric Fischer will join the Global Markets team as Senior Oil Trader, Commodities Unit, Managing Director. Mr. Soler and Mr. Fischer join the Sberbank CIB team in January and will work in Moscow under the direction of Francois Mantion, Head of Commodity Trading, Global Markets Department, Managing Director.

Before joining Sberbank CIB, Sergio Soler spent three years at the Swiss bank Julius Bar, where he was responsible for precious metals spot and futures trading and physical ETF market making. Sergio started his career in 1998 at UBS in Zurich as an FX spot trader. In 2001, he moved to the precious metals desk with a focus on silver and PGMs and worked in a variety of locations (Zurich, London and Singapore). Sergio graduated from Kantonsschule Zurcher Oberland College in Wetzikon with a Business degree.

Franck-Eric Fischer has more than 20 years of experience in crude oil and petroleum products. Franck joins Sberbank CIB from Whitewater Advisers (Geneva), an energy trading and risk management consultancy firm he co-founded in September 2012. From May 2011, he was a senior trader at Bunge (Geneva), where he focused on petroleum products and crude trading in their proprietary trading division as well as providing energy market intelligence to the overall group. Between 2008 and 2011, he successively held the positions of senior trader and senior risk manager at Gunvor. Prior to that, he worked as an oil trader at Dresdner Kleinwort, NM Rothschild and Societe Generale (New York, Singapore). ranck began his career at Elf Trading SA in 1990, where he held various positions in Singapore, Paris and Geneva until 2000. Mr. Fischer graduated from Universite Lyon 2 (France) with a Master's degree in Finance.

These appointments are the latest in a number of recent senior hires as Sberbank CIB continues to expand its Global Markets team. Its team has recently added a number of managing directors including Frederic Blondel as Head of FX and Flow Derivatives Corporate Sales, Sascha Prinz as Head of Rates, Francois Mantion as Head of Commodity Trading.

Sergio Soler and Franck-Eric Fischer will take office once the appointments have been approved by the regulator.
