U. S. Steel Canada Announces Management Appointments
OREANDA-NEWS. January 30, 2014. U. S. Steel Canada, a subsidiary of United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X), today announced several management appointments effective Feb. 1, 2014.
Anton Jura, who currently serves as president and general manager of U. S. Steel Canada, will assume a position within the company's North American flat-rolled operations in the United States as it continues its business transformation efforts. Michael A. McQuade, who currently serves as vice president and chief financial officer, will advance to the role of president and general manager of U. S. Steel Canada. Roy S. Collins, currently serving as controller – Hamilton Works, will assume McQuade's responsibilities. Also, Jodi Koch, currently director – human resources, will advance to director – human resources and employee relations, with continued responsibility for U. S. Steel Canada and additional responsibility for U. S. Steel's Mon Valley Works located outside of Pittsburgh, Pa. She will continue to be based in Hamilton, Ontario.

As president and general manager of U. S. Steel Canada, McQuade, 56, will have management oversight for all U. S. Steel Canada operations. Throughout his 33-year career, he has held a variety of accounting, finance, sales and operations roles at the Ontario steelmaking facilities. Originally employed with Stelco, McQuade became the general manager – finance when U. S. Steel completed its acquisition in 2007. McQuade, a Canadian who resides in Grimsby, Ontario, is a 1981 graduate of the University of Waterloo.
Collins, 59, began his 37-year career at Hamilton Works as member of United Steelworkers Local 1005. Originally from Hamilton, Collins joined the finance organization in 1988 and advanced through the organization to become controller – Hamilton Works in 2007. He is a 1988 graduate of McMaster University where he earned a bachelor's in economics.
Koch, 46, joined U. S. Steel Canada in 2008 after 13 years with Ford Motor Company of Canada where she held a variety of positions in Human Resources including manager – human resources for Volvo Cars of Canada and Volvo Auto de Mexico. Koch, now of Ancaster, Ontario, holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Lakehead University, Thunder Bay, Ontario and a Masters of Industrial Relations from Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario.
Jura, 48, joined U. S. Steel Canada in 2009 as general manager, then was advanced to president in 2011. He joined the company in 2000 following U. S. Steel's acquisition of a Slovak steel company previously owned by VSZ.
A native of Bardejov in the Slovak Republic, Jura graduated from the Technical University in Kosice, Faculty of Metallurgy in 1987.
